Elmwood update

After extensive discussions with colleagues at our Elmwood campus and having had confirmation from the Scottish Funding Council regarding SRUC’s credits, we are pleased to confirm that, with the exception of Introduction to Animal Care, our intention is to continue to deliver all current courses at Elmwood in 2024-25. As always, and is the case across SRUC, this is subject to each course achieving sufficient student numbers.

We strongly believe and have been encouraged by the fact that, while it has at times been difficult, working collaboratively has brought us to this point. We would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank campus staff for the time and effort they have put into supporting the development of a new delivery model.

Our intention is to convert Elmwood House into the main facility for the on-campus aspects of courses using blended learning ready for the start of the new academic year. This will include facilities for animal care and there will be a planned and managed transition of operations from the main building.

The Academic Leadership Team are currently working to finalise the proposed support services staffing structure that will support the new delivery model and will arrange to meet with the campus teams to discuss this within the next two weeks.

Lastly, we wish to inform you that Elmwood golf course was removed from the open market on 22 March. We have been reviewing the offers made and discussions with the interested parties are ongoing.

Please remain assured that we are committed to retaining a presence at Elmwood campus and we greatly appreciate your continued patience and support during this period of change, as we seek the best possible outcome for the Elmwood community.
