Our esteemed Entrepreneurs in Residence play a crucial role in supporting our drive to become an enterprising university at the heart of the rural and natural economy.
Our Entrepreneurs in Residence play a an important role in our enterprise strategy and lend their support to our students in a variety of ways. Their vast experience helps encourage the next generation of business leaders in the natural and rural economy to think differently.
Through guest lectures and interactive sessions for SRUC students, our Entrepreneurs in Residence enhance the student experience and encourage entrepreneurial spirit.
Through on-going collaboration, practical advice and introductions to established business networks, our Entrepreneurs in Residence play an integral role in helping SRUC students further their own entrepreneurial goals and directly support student enterprise activities across our programmes.
Jackie Brierton
Jackie is the Chief Executive of GrowBiz, a business support organisation operating across rural Scotland. She was awarded an MBE for her services to enterprise in 2009 and was recognised by the Saltire Society as one of its ‘Outstanding Women of Scotland’ in 2019.
Jeremy Leggett
Jeremy, an internationally-renowned solar energy entrepreneur, won the Gothenburg Prize for Sustainable Development in 2015. He is the founder and CEO of Highlands Rewilding, which owns three estates in Scotland with the prime purpose of nature recovery and community prosperity through rewilding.
