Our actions to promote, encourage, enforce, and report on equality, inclusion and diversity at SRUC are structured around numerous policies and commitments, action plans, and legal obligations.

SRUC has adopted the Model Publication Scheme produced by the Scottish Information Commissioner, who is responsible for enforcing the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FoISA). We have made a commitment to publish all information which we hold which falls within the classes of information in the scheme and are required by FoISA to have due regard to the public interest in providing access to the information that we hold which relates to the services we provide, the cost of those services, the standard of those services, the facts that inform the important decisions we take and the reasoning that informs our decisions.

In recognition of its responsibilities under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 SRUC adopts a robust approach to eliminating slavery and human trafficking across all of its activities. 

SRUC's modern slavery statement is made in accordance with Section 54(1) of the Act, and sets out our actions to understanding potential modern slavery risks related to our activities, and our commitment to minimising the risk of slavery and human trafficking in relation to procurement activities and associated supply chains.

SRUC’s journey to become an enterprise university at the heart of the natural economy requires a holistic view of our own impact on the environment and what we will do about climate change.

The SRUC Climate Change Action Plan sets out the steps SRUC will take to reduce total carbon emissions by 20% by 2025 (from the 2020 baseline) as a milestone towards becoming net zero organisation by 2040.

Fair Work First is the Scottish Government's flagship policy for driving high quality and fair work across the labour market in Scotland by applying fair work criteria to grants, other funding and contracts being awarded by and across the public sector, where it is relevant to do so. 

SRUC is committed to ensuring that we have in place fair working practices and is committed to advancing the Fair Work First criteria.

This report focuses only on our Further Education provision, which means all courses up to and including SCQF Level 6. Because SRUC is a designated Higher Education Institution the report does not include SCQF Level 7 (Higher National Certificate) and above. The overarching data is published annually by the Scottish Funding Council.

The data is used to review our academic outcomes on an annual basis and allows us to benchmark ourselves nationally against the rest of the Scottish college sector.
