Become a Class Rep
SRUCSA runs your class rep system. This is where students in each class put themselves forward to represent the rest of their class to their lecturers and SRUC as a whole. Your class rep can feedback to staff on what is going well with the course, raise any issues, and present your ideas. It is a great way for you to get involved, get some experience for your CV, and develop your skills! Your Year Tutor will hold elections for Class Reps in the first few weeks of term. Please speak to them if you are interested in taking up the role.

Take part in the Academic Board
The SRUC Academic board is the highest decision-making group for education and research. The group reserves five spaces for student representation. This includes space for one student from a Further Education (FE) course, one from a Higher Education (HE) course, one postgraduate student, one student from a background traditionally underrepresented on boards, and one for one of the three Co-Presidents. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who would like to make changes to and influence the student experience at SRUC or anyone who is looking to get experience of taking part in meetings and boards. The posts are filled by election. Elections will be held in October for the FE and postgraduate student spaces, which are currently vacant. Posts will be back up for re-election for the next academic year in spring of next year. If you are interested in taking up a position or would like to nominate someone, contact elections@sruc.ac.uk

Become a Liberation Officer
SRUCSA believes that all students should by equally represented in its work. We want students from traditionally underrepresented groups to sit on the group that leads SRUCSA and have a direct influence on our work and how we support students from all backgrounds. We have created four posts on the SRUCSA Executive to be filled by students with the following backgrounds: Women Students, Students with Disabilities, Black Students, and LGBT+ Students The posts are filled by election by students of the same background. Elections will be held in October for the Black Students Liberation Officer post, which is currently vacant. Posts will be back up for re-election for the next academic year in spring of next year. Become a Co-President
Co-Presidents are Sabbatical Officers. They take a year (a maximum of two) out of their studies to work for SRUCSA and represent SRUC students full time. There are three Co-Presidents. They represent the North Faculty, the Central Faculty, and the South and West Faculty and are elected to these positions by students in our annual elections. Elections for Co-Presidents will take place in the spring of next year. If you are interested in a position or would like to nominate someone, contact elections@sruc.ac.uk.

SRUCSA Groups and Societies
A key part of the student experience at SRUC is the time spent outside the classroom.  SRUCSA offers a range of student-led clubs and societies. This is to make sure your free time is as enjoyable as the time spent learning. It is an amazing way of making new friends, developing your skills, and maximising your student experience. Clubs and societies are open to everyone studying at SRUC and are run by your fellow students with help and funding from SRUCSA.
